In the news this past week:
- Federal judge in the Baltimore District Court rules that AR-15s “fall outside Second Amendment protection as dangerous and unusual.”
- Pro-gun Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke overcomes major Bloomberg and anti-gun PAC attack to win his primary, causing the anti-gunners to waste about half a million dollars.
- Rep. Mike Honda (D-CA) introduces H.R. 5344, a bill to ban civilians from purchasing body armor. Sign the White House petition against it!
- In New Jersey, carrying a gun is worse than beating your wife.
- NSSF says the decline in gun sales is no reason to worry, it’s just a return to pre-panic normals.
- FDIC withdraws their hit list of “high risk” businesses–including gun stores and businesses–created to discourage banks from dealing with them and issuing them credit. It was all a “misunderstanding” they say. Uh huh…
- 7th Circuit Federal court rules that Armslist not liable in woman’s death.
- Some Georgia antis are upset that guns purchased in a police buy-back were later auctioned off to the public.
- California police melt down 5,000 guns that weren’t going to be used in a crime allegedly in order to prevent crime, during their 21st annual gun melt.
- Massachusetts enacts still more gun control, apparently because they think a little more ought to solve the problem.
- Ingenuity strikes again, as gun maker releases UK gun ban friendly AR-15.
- U.S. District Court judge allows lawsuit against Cinemark theaters for not guaranteeing movie-goers’ safety in a gun free zone on the night of the Aurora, CO theater shooting.

- Nuclear war was a little too close for comfort on a few occasions…
- The real U.S.S. Enterprise, the world’s first nuclear aircraft carrier, is being shut down forever after its retirement two years ago.
- 100 years after the ratification of the 17th Amendment, allowing for the popular election of senators, Politico asks: Did we make a mistake?

Closing Thoughts and Parting Shots
Here’s a silly screen capture in honor of Michael Bloomberg’s major failure in the re-election of pro-gun Sheriff David Clarke. The hypocrisy of that guy is almost too thick to comment on. Even so, we gotta ask: Wouldn’t it be nice if ol’ Mikey supported your right to defend yourself, too? Yeah, yeah, we know…But hey, we can dream, can’t we?
