Terry Branstad has picked up a key endorsement from the NRA’s Political Victory Fund. This comes as no real surprise as Branstad carries an A rating from the NRA, and has been a long time friend of the Iowa Firearms Coalition. Full details from today’s endorsement can be found at the NRA’s PVF page.

Chris Cox, chairman of the NRA’s Political Victory Fund had this to say about Governor Branstad:

“As Governor, Terry Branstad signed a comprehensive bill improving Iowa’s concealed carry law, so law-abiding citizens can more fully exercise their Right to Keep and Bear Arms,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF.  “The new law also provides, for the first time in state history, a clear path for Iowans, including members of the military and veterans, to have their gun rights restored.”

Branstad was also instrumental in our fight to keep anti-gunners from enacting a ban on the use of lead shot during Iowa’s dove hunting season, and has openly stated he opposes gun registration and universal background checks.
