Armed Robbery

Fortunately no one was hurt, and the bad guys captured. No word yet on whether or not Guppy’s on the Go is a “Gun Free Zone.”

Remember: Be alert. Be prepared. Be safe.

Original story:

MARION — Two people were arrested Wednesday for an armed robbery that happened earlier in the day at the Guppy’s on the Go in the 600 block of Lindale Drive.

Police responded just after 10 a.m. for a report of a man with a gun. Officers learned a customer at the gas station was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot. Money was taken, but no injuries were reported, according to a release from the Marion Police Department.

Later in the day, officers arrested 24-year-old Eric Hays and 24-year-old Tayla Baca in connection with the crime after serving a search warrant. Investigators found items associated with the robbery, including the gun and cash.

Hays was charged with first degree robbery and Baca with conspiracy to commit robbery.
