Iowa Legislative Session – 2016 Kick-off

2016 Legislative session begins TOMORROW
Time to get to work

The 2016 legislative session officially begins tomorrow, January 11th. The Iowa Firearms Coalition will once again be carrying the Second Amendment banner, and leading the way for all gun rights advocates in Iowa. We have an aggressive agenda set forth with numerous bills waiting to be introduced. We’ll be detailing each of them as they’re introduced.

That, however, is only half of the work that must be done. We know that anti-gun owner groups are lurking, trying to slowly erode our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. For years the Iowa Firearms Coalition has had great success keeping them at bay, but that’s only possible if our members are on-guard and active.

We’ve just launched our first advocacy campaign of 2016. This pre-written email will help you establish contact with your legislators, and more importantly let them know they have voters in their districts who are keeping a close eye on their work. We are also fortunate to be able to present a guide on how to make the biggest impact possible when talking with your legislators.

In the past couple of weeks we’ve also posted a number of updates on our website about important or noteworthy issues related to Iowans and the Second Amendment. These include posts about gun control advocates trying to frame gun owners for a fake terror attack on the Iowa House of Representatives – responsible gun owners in Indianola who stopped a potential mass shooting before it ever started – and an important reminder about firearm safety. We’re regularly updating the news portion of our website. Stop by and check it out.

Finally, don’t forget about our “Come and Take It” discount. Get an IFC membership for just $20, and take $10 off an annual NRA membership. This is a short time deal that will only be good for another week.

Iowa Firearms Coalition is an entirely volunteer, grassroots, Second Amendment advocacy group. Responsible for bringing uniformity to Iowa’s Concealed Weapons Permitting process, IFC’s members work to protect and enhance Second Amendment rights in Iowa. An affiliate of the National Rifle Association, the IFC actively seeks to foster and promote the shooting sports. Sign up for our email list for the latest on Second Amendment issues in Iowa.
