Congratulations to Buena Vista County on becoming the 29th 2A Sanctuary and reaffirming your rights. We are one step closer to having the entire state affirm their rights to bear arms. We at Iowa Firearms Coalition would like to encourage any residents to reach out to us for assistance in making their respective county’s a 2A Sanctuary. We can help but it must be brought forth by a resident.

IFC WELCOMES NEWS OF BUENA VISTA COUNTY’S “SECOND AMENDMENT SANCTUARY” STATUS

The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors approved a statement on Tuesday, unanimously, to make their community a Second Amendment supporting county. This makes them the 29th Second Amendment Sanctuary county in Iowa.

“Buena Vista is the third county to affirm their support of the Second Amendment this month,” said Dave Funk, IFC President. “Momentum is on the side of freedom and liberty and we are optimistic our lawmakers in Des Moines will soon take the steps necessary to make all of the Hawkeye state a Second Amendment Sanctuary.”

The IFC has been working with state and local elected officials to protect the right of Iowans to keep and bear arms in the wake of threats by some in Washington, D.C. to support actions which would infringe upon the Second Amendment.

Iowa’s Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties, so far, also include: Mitchell, Chickasaw, Pocahontas, Hardin, Carroll, Jasper, Cedar, Washington, Madison, Mills, Adams, Clarke, Humboldt, Kossuth, Ringgold, Buchanan, Van Buren, Winnebago, Decatur, Dallas, Guthrie, Benton, Page, Lucas, Taylor, Union, Hancock and Wayne.

The Iowa Firearms Coalition, an affiliate of the NRA, is a 501(c4) nonprofit and is Iowa’s only effective gun rights organization.
