“No One is Coming for Your Guns” – by Richard Rogers

How many times have you heard the statists claim “No one is coming for your guns. You’re paranoid!”? Anyone who says that is either unaware of their own team’s plan or they are simply lying in an attempt to lull you into complacency.

There IS a “vast left-wing conspiracy”, a conspiracy ultimately intended to strip you of your individuality – your birthright of the freedom to choose your own path – and transform you into an anonymous (and expendable) cog in the machinery of the state. The conspiracy may be loosely woven, but it is the product of unfathomable levels of funding and effort by the statists and their allies (bureaucrats at all levels of government, NGOs, “think tanks”, universities, unions, etc.) devoted to expanding the role of government in your life- and limiting your own.

For an example of the relentless energy being poured into this project, see a single report (linked below) among many produced by a single organization operating entirely in the anti-Second Amendment area. The Violence Policy Center, (VPC, founded by Josh Sugarman, formerly of the National Coalition to Ban Handguns and the creator of the phony but oh-so-successful “assault weapon” meme) has been the recipient of many millions of dollars from such “charitable” organizations as the Joyce Foundation. Earlier this month, apparently despairing of seeing any more anti-gun legislation moving in the newly elected Congress, the VPC released a report titled 50 State Actions to Reduce Gun Violence. As the title suggests, it offers fifty prescriptions for highly restrictive regulations and massively intrusive surveillance that state and local governments “need” to implement in order to “promote public safety”. In truth, these are designed to work together to make it difficult and expensive, at best, and often impossible, to make, sell, possess, or use firearms. If you persist, you will be subjected to high and discriminatory taxation, exposed to exceptional liability, and portrayed as a social pariah.

We’ve seen many of these hoped-for restrictions before, but these liberty-hating traitors are continually generating new ideas of how to strangle your freedom. Here is a line from “policy recommendation” #39 [emphasis mine]: “Gun advertisements, including marketing by local, state, and national organizations, should be banned or heavily regulated. Folks, that means neither the Iowa Firearms Coalition nor the NRA, GOA, SAF, CCRKBA, FPC, etc., could advertise their existence. Actually, this isn’t such a new idea, since California recently prohibited “marketing” (anything positive, that is) about firearms or shooting sports to anyone under the age of eighteen! So, never doubt that “they” are coming for your guns, which are the ultimate means of preserving any of your fundamental rights. As long as you have access to effective weapons, you are unlikely to need them to counter such tyranny. But once that access is limited, watch out!

Please, if you have not already, join the other volunteers of Iowa Firearms Coalition as an Annual or Life Member. American Patriot discounted memberships are available to military members, first responders, and veterans. IFC needs your membership and support as we head into what promises to be an impactful legislative session.
