IOWA LEGISLATIVE UPDATE & MUCH MORE

STUDENTS FIRST SAFETY ACT

Iowa Legislative update:  Students First Safety Act passes the Iowa House!  IFC has seen a banner week at the Iowa Statehouse this last week.  This is from IFC’s Press Release:

HF2586, the Students First Safety Act, passes Iowa House! Yesterday, the Iowa House passed the Students First Safety Act (now HF2586) with 61% affirmative vote, sending the bill to the Senate for action. (Look HERE, and Click “Votes” and then Click “Detail”, to see how your Representative voted on the bill in the House.) Today, the bill was assigned to the 19-member Senate Education Committee for review and action…”

Please head over to IFC’s Action Alert Pages and send your thanks to our Iowa House Representatives and encourage the Iowa Senate and Governor to pass and sign this legislation.

“WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT”

“When in doubt, throw it out” That’s what the US Supreme Court recently said about the Second Amendment questions in Bruen regarding the long-time overreaches of the government when it comes to restricting our 2A Constitutional Rights.

One of the best parts about the Bruen decision is that SCOTUS rightly shifted the burden of proof back to the government.  The government must now show that any proper cause requirements to violate the Second Amendment must be consistent with the nation’s historical tradition of firearms regulation as was known in 1791, at the time of the ratification of our Constitution and its Bill of Rights.

The burden is on the government despite what those anti-gun Dangerous Quacks on the left try to tell us. Once again, a special shout out to Mark W. Smith at The Four Boxes Diner for his highlighting of this important ruling.

STAYING READY AT ALL TIMES

I’m currently reading Kurt Schlichter’s excellent book THE ATTACK which is written as a retrospective novel on a massed Hamas “October 7th-type terrorist attack” on the United States that occurs in the late summer of 2024. Martin Stanton, a retired US Army Officer, wrote a piece for the Small Wars Journal titled “Crippled At The Starting Gate”. I highly suggest you read this article and ask yourself if you are prepared for the first shots in the next war. Remember the first people to fight back on 9-11 were the passengers on United Flight 93. I am afraid that America’s first response to another attack on our homeland will again be led by civilians and not our Department of Defense and its current woke leadership.
