ANTI-FREEDOM HYPOCRITES

Anti-freedom hypocrItes!  Here are just a couple of examples from the last few weeks of those Leftist Dangerous Quacks who have gun-toters protecting them, but don’t think you should have the same right to self defense. These are two of the most radical:

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy not only wants to disarm law abiding Americans, but he is talking about how if he doesn’t get his way, there will be a popular revolt against all gun owners. This sounds like a call for an insurrection. He told Chuck Todd on the May 14th NBC Meet The Press:

“According to Murphy, the Supreme Court is illegitimate, district court judges enforcing Supreme Court decisions are just awful people, and unless the Supreme Court backs off and lets fascists at all levels of government do their thing, some bad sh** might happen.”

And last but not least, former (and some argue he is still pulling the strings in the Biden administration), President Obama. Both he and his wannabe POTUS wife Michelle, have attacked your rights to self-defense and firearm ownership. In a recent interview the former President called for the United States to emulate Australia’s draconian gun laws.

Owning and using a firearm is limited in Australia to people with a genuine reason, and self-protection does not constitute a genuine reason to possess, own or use a firearm.

Note in Australia that self-protection is not a good reason to own a gun. But if you’re a member of the elite of society, then you can have private armed security to protect yourself.

Repeating History

It never ceases to amaze me how much the current Democrat Party is resembling the NAZI’s of the 1920-1940 period in their quest to disarm everyone. But then, how can you have your way with your opponents if they can fight back? Not unlike a rapist can with a smaller and weaker victim.

In certain basic respects — a totalitarian state structure, a single party, a leader, a secret police, a hatred of political, cultural and intellectual freedom — fascism and communism are clearly more like each other than they are like anything in between.

—Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr., Associate Professor of History at Harvard, New York Times Magazine, Sunday, April 4, 1948

One thing for sure. Both Murphy and Obama are hypocritical in their calls for total disarmament of the American people, they are both protected by staff with firearms. You and I cannot be trusted to defend ourselves. Don’t let these hypocrites who are wrong about nearly everything tell you how to live. These are the same people who create problems for the rest of us and then stand off to the side and in a detached manner, acting like an outside observer claiming no responsibility.

Those Dangerous, and Clueless, Quacks

Those dangerous, and clueless quacks are still proposing their perilous ideas. The latest comes from writer Alan Goldstein in a Special to The Desert Sun titled “Let’s Get Serious And Repeal The Second Amendment.” Why am I not surprised that this article comes out of San Francisco?

His piece is so bad I almost don’t know where to start. Here is the first question I have for Mr. Goldstein; Did you not learn anything from the evil perpetrated upon Six Million Jews by Adolph Hitler? When the Nazis swept into power in the 1930’s the first thing they did was register all the guns. Then they took them from all of the law-abiding people of Germany, giving the Nazis a monopoly on power. But I suppose in his Pollyanna view, getting rid of the Second Amendment will only bring rainbows and unicorns to the world.

This quote from his article lays out just how out of touch his idea is:

Getting serious means repealing, or drastically amending, the Second Amendment. The Supreme Court has decided that “a well-regulated militia” includes gang bangers and wild-eyed loners with a grudge. They say the Constitution makes it impossible to pass the gun laws that an overwhelming majority of the American people want. But the Constitution is not a suicide note. The Second Amendment can be amended, even repealed.”

I’m not sure where Mr. Goldstein found in recent decisions that gang-bangers and loners are singled out to remain fully armed. But I have news for him, criminals by definition commit crimes, and that’s why disarming honest Americans will not stop crime.

He further lays out how this repeal would happen, starting with leftist States like California and New York, then spreading throughout the country. Apparently, Mr. Goldstein has not bothered to read about how to amend the Constitution. But the primary way is to get it through Congress first, then send it out to the States to ratify. Good luck with that bucky…

His entire article reeks of elitism, and does not address the serious issues surrounding crime, mental illness, monopolies of power, and breakdowns of the family and communities. He clearly does not see how this, and other leftist policies have exacerbated these issues everywhere they have been tried.

More importantly, his idea would clear the way for a police state, which is what his tribe wants.

A B747 Captain I flew with as a young pilot at Northwest Airlines had a great phrase that has stuck with me since the day I first heard him say it.

“The clueless always are.”

Let’s not let the clueless and dangerous quacks vote away our God-given right to self-defense. Join or renew your IFC membership today here.

Disappointment, Realities, and Resources

Disappointment, Realities, and Resources is an odd combination of things that I should not have to write about immediately following the adjourning of the Iowa Legislature for the rest of this year. The same legislators who thanked IFC just a few months ago for helping turn the State of Iowa “Red” by our push to pass the Freedom Amendment last year.

Disappointment: Well I wish I were the wordsmith my friend and IFC past Chairman Michael Ware is but I’m not. You can read his in-depth analysis of the just ended legislative session HERE. I’d be lying if I told you I’m anything but disappointed by our Senators who failed to protect Iowan’s from “woke” corporations and their inability to see through the bull crap of the dangerous quack anti-gun leftist.

Realities: Well, not just have the opponents of freedom here in Iowa showed us their true colors, but once again their allies in Washington D.C. have done the same thing. Last week Senator Mendez and his fellow dangerous quacks introduced the H.E.A.R Act, that if passed would outlaw firearm sound suppressors and demand confiscation. You can read about it over at Accurate Shooter. The amazing thing to me is that in most of the world it’s considered bad manners and inconsiderate to shoot or hunt without a suppressor on your firearm. In Canada and Alaska the sound of a gunshot is known as the dinner bell to the local bear population.

Resources

Resources: Most, if not all, of you reading the IFC Blogs know about the resources on IFC’s website, along with the NRA’s various programs and firearms safety material. Ever wonder where some of us from IFC find all the current information and research on crime and firearms rights? One of my favorite sources is Professor John Lott, PhD.  Dr. Lott is the President of the Crime Prevention Research Center and he has a weekly email newsletter that covers everything from his testimony before legislative bodies and research materials. I highly suggest you check out his website and, if interested, sign up for his weekly newsletter.

The Leftist Narrative

Gun grabbers ignore the real problem.  The leftist narrative is that guns are bad in the hands of law abiding citizens, but they conveniently ignore who are the real problem. It’s not the mentally ill; they are actually only a small part of the violence problem in America. It’s not “Ultra MAGA Republicans” despite the left projecting and screaming constantly about their law-abiding opposition. It’s criminals and gang members.

Let’s look at a headline from the last few days of a shooting story that quickly disappeared from the mainstream media to illustrate my point:

“Five Killed in Texas Shooting, Police Are Searching for the Shooter, and the Gun Grabbers for a Reason to Look Away”

Within that story are a few notable quotes from the article — if  you don’t have time to read the whole thing:

“This is a shooting that should galvanize the gun-grabbers. It is a mass shooting during the course of a home invasion. One of the victims is a child. The shooter had been the subject of several complaints about him discharging a firearm.  And the weapon is an AR-15-style rifle. But it won’t.” [emphasis added]

Unfortunately, in the example above an illegal alien was involved, due to our unsecured border.  The Sheriff described the scene in this video:  Sheriff Greg Capers shares details of deadly San Jacinto County shooting

Then in Jasper County Texas, at an after-prom party with 250 people in attendance, eleven people were shot. Two weeks before that in Dadeville, Alabama at another teen party with about sixty people attending, four died and 32 were injured or wounded.

“Step back to two weeks from today, April 15, and we have a third mass shooting in Dadeville, Alabama. The venue was a “sweet 16” party of about 60 young people. Gunfire erupted — at least 89 shell casings from seven different weapons were recovered at the scene — and when it ended, four people were dead (three men, aged 23, 29, and 18, and a 17-year-old woman) and 32 either injured or wounded. Four of the wounded were initially in critical condition. What should’ve been the lead story across the nation for several days disappeared by Monday morning.”

What is the consistent theme of these reports? Teenage gangs committing crimes. But the stories are quickly dropped. Why? The Leftist narrative is not about gangs, or crime, or the children. If it was, the gang violence in Chicago would be the headlines 24/7 in America. Gun control and highlighting certain violent attacks are about controlling people, period.  End of story.

Contact Your Legislator

Time to reach out again to your State Senator or State House Representative with your support for Senate File 543. Call, fax, email, or use the IFC Action Alert system to reach out to them as soon as possible. And while you’re at it, remind them that Iowans voted them into office, not the woke big banks and freight companies.  They need to support Governor Reynolds’ Anti-ESG bill Senate File 507 and stop discriminating against firearm, agriculture, and energy businesses in Iowa.

National Rifle Association Annual Meeting 2023

The National Rifle Association Annual Meeting concluded just a little over a week ago and I had the honor of attending on your behalf as IFC President. Due to the incredible work of all our Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and other volunteer efforts last year, not only did we get the Freedom Amendment passed with an overwhelming majority, but in the process, IFC set the new standard for social media effectiveness across the Second Amendment and civil rights activist community, winning the coveted NRA Outstanding State Association Award for 2022.

While on the subject of NRAAM, here are a few photos of what it’s like sharing the convention center with over 70,000 people on a show floor of over fourteen acres of the newest in guns and gear!

President Roosevelt’s Hunting Rifles

President Roosevelt's Hunting Rifles

Apparently the legislators in Indiana did not get Lincoln’s message (below).  Unlike Iowans, who as people of a Free State are not restricted from being able to defend themselves in or around our State Capitol grounds and buildings.

And, of course, two of IFC’s Trusted Partners were in attendance–Both Mountain Man Medical and Firearms Legal Protection!

Legislative Update – Please Take Action Now!

I’ll take a few words to remind you to reach out through our Action Alert System to your State Senators to ask them again to support the Safer Families Act. It’s critically important that you do so today. The surprising thing to us here in IFC leadership is that what looks like common sense to each of us in allowing Iowan’s when and where to choose to protect themselves with lawful weapons, is that some of our long term supporters in the legislature are not listening to the facts. If you want to know the truth go to our past Chairman’s blog on the Safer Families Act here to get the facts. Not the dangerous quack leftist lies on what the bill does and does not do.

And don’t forget to renew or join IFC today in our fight against the anti-freedom left.
