2A Sponsor Spotlight: CrossRoads

Iowa Firearms Coalition presents this Sponsor Spotlight and welcomes CrossRoads Shooting Sports as a Sponsor of IFC’s Annual 2A Day.  These events wouldn’t be possible without key sponsors to help us provide speakers and infrastructure to put on an informative and vital day for Iowans each year at the Capitol.

CrossRoads Shooting Sports has long-recognized the value of supporting the Iowa Firearms Coalition for our business and our customers.  Before we opened our doors in 2015, we became Lifetime Members of IFC and have pursued this relationship since.  IFC provides a uniquely effective mechanism to connect gun owners locally, and across the state.  IFC has a proven track record in driving issues of importance and protecting the interests of gun enthusiasts in all four corners of the state — for hunters, competitors and those training for self-defense.  We are excited to be a Sponsor for IFC at this year’s 2A Lobby Day!

Ethan Settle, CrossRoads Shooting Sports

CrossRoads Shooting Sports provides a clean, safe and fun environment for shooters.  Knowledgeable and friendly staff are on hand to assist new shooters and experts alike. There are over 17,000 square feet of retail space, gunsmithing services, classrooms and two shooting ranges with seventeen state-of-the-art lanes.  They recognize that those new to shooting sports may feel intimidated or nervous. Customers purchasing their first firearm find that the firearms experts at CrossRoads provide a more comprehensive level of service.

CrossRoads is heavily involved in the shooting sports to build, grow, and support their patrons on their journey to becoming proficient shooters. They host a variety of groups on a regular basis, for competitive matches, meetings, and training.  They also hold regular training courses, including:

  • CCW
  • Basic and advanced shooting courses
  • First aid/trauma courses
  • Classes on firearms laws in Iowa

Through these groups they work to help customers build assurance, confidence, and skill.  These groups include the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), Armed Women of America (AWA), National African American Gun Owners Association (NAAGA), Black Rifle Club, and Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) competitions.

2A Sponsor Spotlight: RMA Armament

Iowa Firearms Coalition presents this Sponsor Spotlight and welcomes RMA Armament as a Sponsor of IFC’s Annual 2A Day.  These events wouldn’t be possible without key sponsors to help us provide speakers and infrastructure to put on an informative and vital day for Iowans each year at the Capitol.

RMA (which stands for the company founder’s daughters Renee, Meghan, and Alexis) was founded by Blake Waldrop, a US Marine (2001-2005) and a sworn police officer (2007-2013). Blake knows what it’s like to wear body armor and put your life into a product’s hands and it’s his mission to design and produce the highest quality armor at the most affordable prices.

Here at RMA, we did something unique; took the concept of a body armor plate and made changes to every detailed part. We changed materials, adhesives, ceramics, and more. Every part – down to the thread – was analyzed and made better through science and chemistry. The end result? A record-breaking ballistic plate that outperforms every competitor in the industry. Why go to great lengths to make such a product that’s costly, and labor-intensive? Because it’s our passion to make a product you can truly put your life behind.

RMA was borne of the BLUE and it’s our passion to protect the BLUE

PRESIDENTS UPDATE: LEGISLATIVE REPORT, 2A DAY, AND THE IFC-PAC DINNER

First up is this week’s legislative update. We are following several bills of interest and as you know reigning in “ESG” is one of our top priorities. The United States is still a free country, and unlike Communist China, we don’t have social scores controlling our thoughts, actions, and travels – yet. Not only do we have a bill introduced in the Iowa House and Senate, but Governor Reynolds also introduced her own anti-ESG bill last Thursday. The only substantial difference is that the House version goes further by mandating that state-chartered financial institutions do not discriminate against the protected industries. Both bills require that the state not invest in or contract with companies that boycott the firearm, fossil fuel, or agricultural industries.

For up-to-date information on the bills you can find them here at the IFC PAC Bill Tracker.

We are working with our allies at the State Capital, and expect another Omnibus firearms bill introduced soon.

Just a few weeks away, I hope to meet everyone at National 2A Day on February 22, 2023, at the Iowa Capital. You can find more information here including times, parking information, and schedule of events.

We also have a chance for you to meet our 2A Day keynote speaker, Kris “Tanto” Paronto at the Second Annual 2A Day IFC PAC Steak Dinner that evening in Clive at the Front Row bar. Seats are limited and you can get yours at the IFC PAC Events page.

Shoot Straight, Speak The Truth, and Never Surrender Our Liberties.
