You may have heard of Cedar County Sheriff, Warren Wethington, who is also an IFC Board Member, and his initially unpopular stance when he told a local municipality to go pound sand. IFC Chairman, Michael Ware discusses this with Sheriff Wethington. As the officer responsible for the Cedar County Jail, he said “no” to corruption and overreach from a fellow peace officer. Triumphing in the end, not only were the injustices righted, but Sheriff Wethington became the first peace officer to receive the Iowa Association for Justice’s Special Recognition Award. Listen to his story and consider the future of peace officers.

confronting a “culture of the violations” of the rights and dignity of Americans that he saw with his own eyes.
A “culture of violations?”
Please, do tell?
The “cancel culture canard” again?
Grow up.
The law enforcement community is similar to other industries across America. There will always be a handful that tarnish the badges of many. The public perception of the “good old boys” and establishment have to be a thing of the past. Self policing behaviors and acknowledging constructive criticism amongst the brotherhood can and will result in better community policing and customer service. Sheriff Wethington exemplifies honesty, loyalty, and courage when confronting a culture of the violations of the rights and dignity of Americans that he saw with his own eyes. Turning a blind eye or giving the “professional courtesy “ would have been easy but it’s obvious Wethington isn’t about the easy route. Thanks for being you Sheriff- BJ Hoffman
