Government experts in the various federal departments are sold to Americans as the “smartest people in the room”.

Let’s just look at recent history of how crappy the highly credentialed, Ivey Leaguer’s are doing these days–
Dr. Fauci just admitted last week in questioning before a House Panel that the entire ‘social distancing’ requirement was just made up, and that the Wuhan Lab was the source of Covid-19. He may single-handedly be responsible for the deaths of as many as twenty million people.
It looks like “Mayor” Pete Buttigieg’s Federal Aviation Administration is suffering from a policy put into place during the Obama Administration. The policy not only excluded white males from recruitment to positions as air traffic controllers, but he is now looking to recruit people with severe intellectual and psychological disabilities to the FAA workforce. And Americans are wondering why Airbus is kicking Boeing’s butt in the airplane marketplace?
WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH 2A ISSUES YOU MIGHT ASK?
These same people who have made a mess of everything they touch, want not only to allow an invasion of America’s Southern Border, but want you disarmed to boot.
Sorry, but I am not sorry for being suspicious of anything that comes out of nearly every government agency, nor should you be. America’s Founding Fathers understood the grave danger of the government having a monopoly on power. Today’s dangerous quacks in every department of the federal government are showing us exactly why we should be suspicious, and why that is dangerous.

Happy New Year from the Free State of Iowa, which celebrated its 177th birthday on December 28th! It’s New Year’s Day 2024 as I write this. Many of you know how I wound up an Iowan. However, for those of you who do not, here is how it all happened. Having been born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and as a newly minted private pilot, I enlisted in the US Air Force expecting to see the world. The Air Force sent me to Omaha… Now that you’re finished laughing, it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me.
You see, having grown up in even-then economically declining and freedom-crushing State of New York, finding the clear skies of Nebraska and Iowa at age eighteen was a Godsend. I then finished up my professional pilot flight training, graduated from the University of Nebraska (I know, my Huskers football team is not what it used to be). I ultimately received a Direct Commission as a Warrant Officer in the Iowa Army National Guard. I flew attack helicopters out of Waterloo for most of my Army career.
Why might I bring this up on New Year’s Day 2024 you might ask? Well, growing up in New York gives me a unique perspective on how rapidly those dangerous quacks on the Left destroy everything they touch. Be it States, corporations, institutions, or families. Point to anything that has gotten better by centralized government or totalitarian control in history. None of us can.
That’s why Free States like Iowa, Florida, and Texas continue to prosper, and Blue States like California, Minnesota, and New York are in economic collapse with exploding crime rates. We watch as the State of New York prosecutes our former President on “trumped up” civil financial fraud charges. It is glaringly apparent that if you get on the wrong side of the leftists in power, they will destroy you — by any means necessary. Who in their right mind would ever invest in New York State again?
2024 – Election Year
2024 is an election year. It’s obvious that one party is doing everything it can to disarm law-abiding citizens and ensure that it can exert one-party rule in perpetuity. Not just by controlling every institution of government, but also by ensuring it has a monopoly on power.
Rush Limbaugh used to say that the world is ruled by the aggressive use of force. The Left knows this, that’s why they want to disarm every one of us. Free People can fight back, slaves cannot.

Mark your calendars NOW! The 2024 IFC 2A Lobby Day is scheduled for January 18th. This year it’s going to be in the morning, from 9:00 a.m. – Noon, at the Iowa State Capitol Building. By holding the event in the morning, this will give you more time to actually meet with your legislators that day. Our special guest speaker is Gabby Franco: Olympian, Top Shot contender, firearms instructor, author and more. She has an amazing story to tell.
This free event also provides an opportunity to learn about current proposed 2A legislation in Iowa and to meet with your elected representatives at the Capitol. Arrive at 9:00 a.m. to meet IFC’s Sponsors, and some of our Trusted Partners to see what they have to offer. The official program is from 10:00 – Noon.

ANNUAL IFC-PAC DINNER EVENT!
Capping off the 2024 IFC 2A Day events is the IFC-PAC dinner, which will feature a prime rib supper. After the meal, you will have an opportunity to hear more about Gabby’s compelling story of escaping from an oppressive government regime and immigrating to the USA to become a U.S. citizen. She tells her story widely, to warn people about the gradual erosion of gun rights. Gabby is recognized internationally for her shooting skills and is an inspiring woman in the 2A community. There is so much to Gabby’s life story that you will be left amazed & inspired!
Also, (our members asked for it) and we are moving the IFC-PAC dinner event to a bigger venue this year! It will be held at the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Altoona, located at 1100 Shriners Pkwy, Altoona, IA, 50009, with convenient access from Interstate 80. Doors open at 5:30pm; dinner starts at 7pm.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE AND HOW ARE IFC & IFC PAC FUNDED? By: Dave Funk / President, IFC
This week’s President’s Update covers two things. First item is a quick legislative update and second will be an explanation of how IFC and IFC PAC are funded.
Last week was the first of the scheduled Iowa Legislative assemblies “Funnels”. The short explanation of the process is that bills that have not been passed out of one chamber’s committees are dead for this year. They can be revived, but it takes leadership intervention.
The Education Bill’s firearms training requirements have unfortunately failed to survive the first funnel. On the plus side, both the Safer Families Bill and the anti-ESG bills have moved forward out of committees. More to come on both of those in the near future. Watch the IFC PAC website where our PAC maintains a bill tracker and legislative scorecards so you can see exactly what is on the docket, and how Iowa Representatives and State Senators are and have been voting.
How Are the IFC and IFC PAC Funded?
Second; I’m often asked how IFC and the IFC PAC are funded. The funding for just the non-profit portion of IFC is predominantly through memberships. We do get cash donations and some items donated that we can sell or raffle off. Pretty much anyone can donate to IFC.
IFC ‘s Political Action Committee however has to comply with Iowa’s Campaign Ethics and Finance Board rules. That means IFC PAC has to account for every donation above $20 and is limited to only accepting donations from individuals or other PAC’s. Corporate donations are not allowed and we cannot coordinate with other campaigns.
If you want to help IFC and IFC PAC in their missions, join IFC and renew your membership yearly, consider volunteering your time, and get a couple of friends to donate.
