The Fourth of July is a day we celebrate the birth of our nation, a time to reflect on the immense courage and sacrifice of those who declared our independence from tyranny. It’s a day when we honor the principles of liberty and self-governance upon which this country was founded. These ideals, enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, laid the groundwork for the Constitution to secure our rights and freedoms.
As we gather with family and friends, enjoying fireworks and barbecues, let us remember that this joyous occasion is a direct result of the struggles and triumphs of our forefathers who fought to establish a free and independent nation.
Among the fundamental rights secured by our Constitution is the Second Amendment, which states:
“A well-regulated Militia,
being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,
shall not be infringed.”
This amendment, much like the Fourth of July itself, is a testament to the importance of an armed citizenry in safeguarding liberty. It recognizes that the ability of individuals to defend themselves and their communities is a vital check against potential government overreach, ensuring that the power ultimately resides with the people. As we celebrate Independence Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the importance of the Second Amendment, which helps ensure that freedom stays in the hands of the people—a value that’s at the heart of the Fourth of July festivities. So, enjoy your day, take a moment to reflect on what this occasion means, and as always, God bless the USA.

The Iowa Firearms Coalition (IFC) is actively encouraging members to contact their Senators to ensure the components of the HPA and SHORT Act remain in the final version of the budget reconciliation bill. While the Senate Parliamentarian’s ruling to remove suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and other firearms from the punitive NFA tax boondoggle looms larger, you can make your voice heard!
Directly contact your Senators: You can find your Senators’ contact information on their official websites or by searching “find my senator.” You can call their offices or send them an email, urging them to support the inclusion and passage of the SHORT Act in the reconciliation bill.
Spread the word: Encourage other gun owners to take action as well.
Who do Democrats trust more? You with guns — or Iran with nuclear weapons? That question was asked recently by M. Walterover atthe American Thinker.“M” makes a compelling case that clearly, they trust Iran more. With the “Twelve Day” ™ war in a ceasefire, it’s time to take a deep look into how Clinton/Obama/Biden and former US Attorney General Eric Holder feel about you, the American gun owner.
HOLDER’S RECENT TWEET
On X, Holder (aka Obama’s wingman), tweeted the following on June 6th:
“Enough. No policy of negotiation, appeasement or capitulation is going to work with these dishonest, morally bankrupt extremists.”
Looking at just this part of the tweet, you might think he’s referring to the Iranians. But no, here it is in its entirety:
“Enough.
No policy of negotiation, appeasement or capitulation is going to work with these dishonest, morally bankrupt extremists. They want to control/destroy higher education. It’s time for my beloved @Columbia to hold true to its enduring values. Time to stand and fight.”
So Holder is defending the terrorizing of Jewish students under the banner of free speech, but along with the vast majority of Democratic Party politicians and its leaders, wants to take your guns away to make America “safer”.
Fortunately, for Iowa, we have Brenna Byrd as our Attorney General. She took the lead position of supporting the US Department of Justice that’s fighting antisemitic violence on campuses including at Harvard University. From AG Byrd’s press release:
“We stand firmly with the Trump Administration and against antisemitism,” said Attorney General Bird. “But Harvard does not. When President Trump acted to fix the rampant antisemitism on Harvard’s campus by restricting federal funding, Harvard sued. Harvard itself admits that antisemitism both exists and is a problem on its campus but is unwilling to address the issue. Jewish students deserve equal protection and access to education which is why I led a 16-state coalition to support President Trump’s actions.”
Democrats’ history of weaponizing Federal Agencies, ignoring the Constitution, and the downright slimy arming of Mexican gangs is clear evidence of who they do trust.
As a side note, following the U.S. B2 strikes a few days ago on the Iranian nuclear weapons program facilities, and the most-likelytotal destruction of those facilities, the world gets some breathing room on that threat.
We also no longer have to wonder who the Democrats trust more. The leftists’ over-the-top reaction calling the strikes unconstitutional, is ridiculous and hypocritical. Particularly considering the history of the Clinton/Obama/Biden’s use of airstrikes and foreign campaigns. Not a peep out of the leftists back then.
When someone tells you they want to disarm and enslave you, hate you, or are going to kill you, it’s best to believe them.
IFC TRUSTED PARTNER OF THE WEEK: BROWNELLS
In the 1920s and 1930s, Bob Brownell was a middle-America businessman who owned and managed a gas station and sandwich shop in his small hometown, Montezuma, Iowa. In his free time, Bob was a devoted shooter and outdoorsman who enjoyed repairing and customizing firearms. He started by working on his own guns, but news of his talent spread quickly and he soon began accepting jobs from friends. By 1938, his gunsmithing hobby was making profits, so Bob added part-time gunsmithing to his list of businesses. Brownells has expanded and become THE go-to source for all things firearm-related in the last 75 years.
